The only way the Tigers get to the postseason is to win the shitty AL Central, because if you come in 2nd in this weak ass division you have no chance in hell at the Wild Card (no matter how many they have) anyway.

A very good failure. It took them 25 years to win a division. Maybe baseball isn't the sport for you if you're expecting a World Series victory. Getting to the playoffs is tough, even if you have three great players in Fielder, Cabrera and Verlander. To win a title you need those type of guys and a few other guys to have career years.

And once you get into the playoffs, all bets are off. Since they've gone to the three round format its very hard for the best team to get through it. Really only the Yanks with that dynamic core they built had any run of titles. Look at the Cards, they've won two titles with teams that barely got in.

Exactly, a general comparison to 2007 (high expectations, poor performance) isn't unfounded at this point, unfortunately.

There is a world of difference between the AL Central in 2006-2007 and the AL Central in 2012. Tigers don't win the division in '12 it is failure of epic proportions - even with their flaws.

We need a healthy Fister. He stretches out the rotation. Last year our #5 SP killed us before we got Fister.

The season is young. It's only a month old. This Tigers team always starts slow in the cold weather. They have played A LOT of home games so far. Once it gets to summer, the ball carries out more. We have flaws, but our division is garbage. Not a lot of competition there.

Remember the 1987 Twins folks. We figured the Tigers would roll over that team and look who ended up not only winning the Tiger series (easily in 5 games BTW) and the Series.

Just missed a chance with the bases juiced and Cabs up to the plate. That couldve really opened the game up.

Fisters numbers are looking good though. Really glad to have him back in the rotation.

I give it to DD.. They mustve really did their homework on Fister. His career numbers werent really all that great but man he's really a great addition.
