  • He's a pretty good Plan B for Ohio State. But, the upside is that OSU is apparently in fairly good shape with Tyler Friday. I'm not sure if they view him as DT or DE, though. If it's a DE, then I think JJB may not have a spot. But, man -- they offered him and have scheduled for an OV. If he takes the OV he has a spot. I sort of hope he does have one -- I think he can be pretty good. So, he'd be a good get for Frosty (or OSU).

See what happens when fucking Brenton Cox changes his mind at the last second at stays home? Ohio State is sent scrambling and it fucks shit up for other schools. Fucking Georgia.

    • UNL is on him late too. Previous staff did not recruit. But he would be a nice land for UNL

      • A 6'5" OLB though? Does he have the hip and feet to play in in the apex?

Chinander (Our new DC) doesn't use those types, at least not in his base set. He uses DT types at the 3 down positions...or he did at UCF I should say.

Maybe he's projected as a 3rd down specialist, or Chin is changing his game a bit.

              • Heh...Scott shades The Nick with a bit of candor, but walks it back.

                *********************************

Nebraska coach Scott Frost, who's in Houston on Wednesday as a finalist for the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year Award based on his run at UCF, was asked about Alabama coach Nick Saban's decision to bench Jalen Hurts for Tua Tagovailoa in the national title game. "It was a decision I don't know I would have been courageous enough to make. That's the answer you want to hear. The other answer is that he was pretty obviously better and they had 12 games to figure that out and didn't. Coach Saban is above criticism with everything he's accomplished, so I don't mean it that way, but I recruited Tua out of high school and knew what he could do and it doesn't surprise me that he did what he did. Jalen's a great player, too. That was a very bold and courageous move and I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier [in the season]." Frost's recruitment of Tagovailoa dates back to his time as an Oregon assistant.

                      • Why would the next NY Giants coach care what Scott Frost has to say?

                          • I was wondering that too -- where's this guy been and why'd it take till now? Granted, you're not losing with Hurts. Looks to me like Saban did what worked until precisely the time that it stopped working. Picked the right time to make the switch.

Of course if it ends differently Tua probably wouldn't have played any worse but Saban wouldn't get the credit for his ballsy move.

                            • Hurts is 26-2 as a starter. He was SEC offensive player of the year last year. Tua is a true frosh who is still learning the plays and adjusting to the speed of the college game.

Saban stuck with his starter until he had no choice. Thankfully Tua was fairly ready or it would have fucked with both their heads.
